The University of Cumbria, UK is delighted to host the 9th International Outdoor Education Research Conference (IOERC) on our Ambleside Campus in the Lake District National Park from 18-22 July 2022. A tri-annual event, the conference brings together researchers, professionals and policy makers concerned with outdoor education, providing the opportunity to share findings, build networks and consider how best to support the outdoor education sector from an evidence base and through critical thinking.  This conference will give you: 

  • a welcome from the people of Cumbria 
  • a full programme of research presentations 
  • plenaries and discussion groups 
  • excursions in the Lake District National Park – on foot, by ferry and bike – to lakes, hills, forests and museums 
  • barbeque & conference dinner 
  • céilí (food, dancing, conversation and much more! Music from Irish céilí band)
