IOERC9 – Information for oral presentations
Time allocation: 30 minutes (notionally 20 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for questions/discussion). Normally, groups of up to three presentations in one session.
Format: flexible, usually electronic: PowerPoint, sway etc but can be in other forms.
Facilities: each teaching room has a lectern with a fixed screen, keyboard, mouse etc and projector with a guest login. HTMI and VGA cables are supplied. If your device is not compatible with these, please bring your own adaptor and lead. You can also bring a USB/pen drive or external hard drive etc., and/or access from the cloud.
Networks: guest Wi-Fi will be available on campus and university accommodation as well as Eduroam.
Remote presentations: Currently, we are unable to offer live streaming. If you are unable to attend at a later date, we may consider a pre-recorded presentation.
Withdrawal of paper: Please withdraw your paper on the Oxford Abstracts platform and email IOERC9@cumbria.ac.uk to inform us.
IOERC9 – Information for poster presentations
Format: please bring your printed poster with you. There are no facilities to print a poster in Ambleside.
Facilities: display and discussion in a teaching room. All have flexible furniture layouts and display boards/walls.
Presentations: there will be timetabled slots for presenters to engage with conference delegates around their posters.
Conference themes: Continuing in the tradition of previous International Outdoor Education Research Conferences, the aim of this conference is to build on the social, cultural and critical dimensions of research and theorizing in diverse outdoor traditions including: education (both learning and teaching), recreation, place, sustainability and therapy. Therefore, there is no specialized theme. The accepted abstracts enhance the understanding, practice and research of outdoor studies.
Conference Proceedings: We will be publishing an e-book of conference abstracts, available at the conference. These have been peer reviewed in the process of abstract submission. Details of other possibilities for publication will be shared as appropriate during the 9th IOERC.
